WWE News: ECW vs. Smackdown set for next week, Smackdown features first-time match Oct 19, 2007 - 4:43:37 PM
--Tonight's WWE Smackdown headlines with MVP vs. Rey Mysterio in a "first-time match-up" for those two. Check in tonight for reports on Smackdown by Greg Parks and Wade Keller.

--ECW's announced main event next Tuesday includes Smackdown talent Kane visiting ECW to face Big Daddy V in what's being billed as a "Worlds Colliding" match. The influx of Smackdown talent on ECW could help sagging ratings, which dropped to 1.2 this week, and are in danger of being overtaken by Impact as the no. 3 prime time first-run major national cable wrestling TV show. When the contract for ECW on Sci-Fi expires near the end of this year, there's no guarantee it'll be picked up, so the ratings boost could give WWE some extra leverage and give Sci-Fi incentive to keep the odd-fit TV show on its schedule.
