WWE News: Raw ratings holds steady with Jericho's return, draws ten-year low (w/Keller's Reax) Nov 21, 2007 - 9:44:51 PM
Raw held steady at a 3.5 rating. Despite an overt promise to reveal the nature of the "Save_Us" video mystery, the rating the second hour was the same as in the first - 3.5. Viewership overall actually dropped a bit, from 5.1 million to 4.9 million.
The Thanksgiving week Raw last year drew a 3.7 rating, a 3.6 two years ago, and a 3.9 three years ago. You have to go back ten years to find a lower rated Thanksgiving week Raw when it drew a 3.1 rating.
WK ANALYSIS: The rating drop the last two weeks after popping a 3.8 rating for Steve Austin and the DX reunion indicates that Austin was the draw, not Triple H and Shawn Michaels, since Triple H and Michaels have remained a major part of Raw the last two weeks. It's also got to be disappointing for WWE that Chris Jericho's return didn't even create a blip on the ratings pattern. Now that fans absolutely know he's back, will he make a difference? Unfortunately, next week's Raw rating will go up almost for sure because of Ric Flair's return, so it will be difficult to gauge how much Jericho's influence is on the predictable ratings uptick.
