WWE News: Bobby Lashley posts message saying he won't be back in WWE, removed from Raw opening Jan 23, 2008 - 10:06:24 AM
Former ECW Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley posted the following on his official website (bobbylashleyonline.com) yesterday:
I am sorry to everyone here but I am serious when I say I won't be back. Everyone wants to come here and hear the real story and I am telling you the real story. Circumstances which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can't go into details of this now but like I said before sometimes people will hate you personally and try to destroy you which has happened here. Evil has prevailed however like I said before if you continue your struggle doors will open around these people. You have not scene the last of me so please don't stop your support. Add Bobby Lashley to the list of RECENTLY RELEASED!
Lashley has been rehabbing his injured shoulder for five months and was rumored to be physically ready to return. While there is the possibility of a swerve or surprise return this Sunday, WWE did remove Lashley's image from the opening credits of WWE Raw on Monday.
Lashley's match against Umaga was one of the featured attractions last year at WrestleMania 23 in Detroit. He defeated Umaga in a match where seconds Donald Trump and Vince McMahon had to shave their heads if their man lost. The McMahon-Trump angle drew national media attention.
McNeill Analysis: If Lashley is indeed gone from WWE, it marks a huge tumble for the wrestler whose continued push was once seen as the number two priority within WWE circles.
