WWE News: Vince McMahon: "I am totally out of my mind. I've been out of my mind for a long time." Jun 12, 2008 - 1:40:49 PM
On the MSNBC "Morning Joe" morning show today, Vince McMahon was interviewed regarding the Million Dollar Mania sweepstakes.
Why are you doing this, asked a co-host. Vince: "It's a little controversial. It certainly gets headlines. It's our own economic stimulus package for WWE's audience. We're trying to attract viewers who haven't watched us in a while to come back and for those who regularly view us as a little bonus."
McMahon plugged that anyone can register at WWE.com. He said he doesn't know how long he's going to continue doing this.
Keller's Analysis: It was interesting to see the two main hosts not do the interview, but instead move Vince off to the side where he was interviewed by two "sidekicks" who seemed star-struck. One of them, Willie Geist, talked about being a fan when he was a kid. He asked him about creating an empire. Vince said he had a little luck, strong work ethic, and some knowledge. He seemed bored by the question and his answer was pretty blah. He seemed more interested in plugging the contest and then moving on. When pressed, he elaborated a bit and complimented good people around him and a wonderful audience.
