WWE News: Batista talks about lingering feelings of disbelief over the end of Benoit's life (w/Keller's Analysis) Aug 15, 2008 - 3:26:49 PM
In an article today at ninemsn.com, Batista spoke about lingering feelings regarding the tragic end of the lives of Chris, Nancy, and Daniel Benoit.
He said: "Still to this day, I think people are in shock over it and a lot of people are still in denial. It's just the hardest thing we've ever done... a nightmare come to life." He also said he and Edge "had a deep personal trust for each other and... talked about personal issues." He said it's still hard to think of Benoit as someone who slayed his family. "We all loved him so much, and we all respected him so much. A lot of us are kind of in denial because we don’t associate the Chris Benoit we knew and loved with the Chris Benoit who did that horrible thing."
Keller's Analysis: I think those comments come from the heart. Wrestlers travel with each other so many days of the year that some joke about spending more time with their wrestler friends than their spouses. Batista's lingering feelings of disbelief are understandable as reconciling the man he knew and the actions he took must be difficult to cope with.
