WWE News: More details on Steve Austin breaking nose of MMA fighter during movie filming Oct 31, 2008 - 12:44:04 PM
Earlier this week, we reported on an accident involving Steve Austin and a fellow actor during the filming of a fight scene for Austin's next movie, "Damage." During the filming in Canada, Austin was filming a scene with MMA fighter Paul Lazenby when he accidentally clipped Lazenby on the nose with a left-hand jab.
TMZ.com picked up on the story and reported that Lazenby was bleeding from the nose for 20 minutes while medical staff tended to his nose. Lazenby wrote on his personal blog that the incident was an accident and the issue has been resolved.
"I want to stress that this was NOT a case of negligence or incompetence, just one of those things that can happen even between skilled performers when they're swinging their fists at one another," Lazenby wrote. I don't blame Steve at all, he just made a mistake that even the best stunt performers can make (and one of which I'm certainly not innocent)."
Lazenby continued that Austin was upset about his mistake and eventually they had a good laugh about it when Austin showed up later with his arm in a sling requesting a trip to the hospital, claiming that his left hand was injured.
FYI: Paul Lazenby is an accomplished MMA fighter and stuntman for movies. He was a stuntman for 2006 films "Little Man" and "X-Men: The Last Stand." The filming of Austin's movie, "Damage," is expected to conclude around Thanksgiving.
