After WWE's next theatrical release of "12 Rounds" starring John Cena, WWE's film division will be focused on "The Marine 2," which stars Ted DiBiase, Jr.

WWE announced in its quarterly conference call with investors this morning that the movie will be a straight-to-DVD release in early 2010.

WWE released Mr. Kennedy's "Behind Enemy Lines" movie on a straight-to-DVD schedule earlier this year to begin the film division's re-focused approach to movie releases.

During WWE's conference call, a caller asked about the early business returns for Kennedy's DVD. WWE CFO George Barrios danced around the question without having hard data to report.

Barrios said the information they have from their distribution partner, FOX, is that the movie is "performing well." WWE shared the $4-5 million production costs with FOX as part of their working agreement and they are "ballparking" about 150,000 DVD units have been shipped.

If the average price point for Mr. Kennedy's DVD is $20 per unit, the movie would have grossed $3.0 million. Assuming WWE and FOX splits revenue if they're splitting costs, WWE has made $1.5 million off the movie, using WWE's limited information made available.

COO Donna Goldsmith chimed in that the movie is still in domestic distribution, and they have yet to release the movie internationally. She said they expect additional revenue to be realized in those markets.
