As a person who lives a "straight-edge" lifestyle of no drugs or alcohol, C.M. Punk says he stays away from pain killers and deals with pain by sleeping more or taking time off. He says he's not afraid of losing his position in WWE.

"If I'm hurt, I'll take a nap," Punk told the Chicago Tribune to promote WrestleMania 25. "Or I'll take a weekend off. Unfortunately, not a lot of guys do it because they're afraid someone will take their spot."

Punk doesn't have many commitments outside of wrestling to distract him from his job. He says he's positioned himself as a top star by making other sacrifices besides working hurt.

"To be successful in this business, you have to put wrestling first," Punk said. "I don't know how guys can be married and have kids. Right now I'm like a pirate. I'm married to the sea."

Punk says he spent enough time in wrestling sacrificing his life and body to become a WWE star and eventually World Hvt. champion. He says winning his first World Title last year was a culmination of endless sacrifice.

"It was kind of a lonely thing," Punk said. "My night always ends in a hotel room by myself. I turned my phone off, no TV on, and just sat there for a long 15 minutes staring at it."

Before winning his first title, Punk says he "cried like a baby" when he first entered WWE after wrestling on the independents for nearly a decade.

"Everybody my entire life said I would never make WWE," Punk said. "It was an emotional moment."
