WWE champion Randy Orton says he works a much better schedule than the previous generation of his father, Cody Rhodes's father, and Ted DiBiase's father. Orton also says the company looks out for the well-being of wrestlers and their families.

"They were gone two months at a time. I'm gone maybe four or five days at a time and I'm home at least a couple of days a week. I'm at home now," Orton told Patrick Lennon of the Daily Star in the U.K.

As the company's champion, Orton is saying all the right things about WWE looking out for the wrestlers. Orton says he works a better schedule than an average middle-class worker despite being on the road wrestling or doing promotional work four-to-five days out of the week.

"If we tour overseas I'm gone for maybe two weeks at worst, but then we get extra days off. WWE are very good about family and getting us home," he said. "I think I'm better off than most typical husbands and fathers who work nine to five - I get to see my family for two full days a week at least."

Orton is the company leader politically as WWE champion and he's also a leader to Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase on TV and behind-the-scenes. Orton says he's in Triple H's position from when he was in Evolution and Hunter mentored him.

Orton says he sees a lot of himself in Cody and Ted from when he first started out and he likes to push them. Orton referenced this past Monday's edition of Raw when Cody and Ted had multiple segments to make them more visible on TV.

"Cody and Ted's careers are effectively in my hands. They have some degree of control too, but the fact is if I go back to old selfish ways it's not gonna help them at all," Orton said. "I see a lot of me in them when I was their age. I think they'll do well."
