WWE chairman Vince McMahon says WWE turned down Kroenke Sports's offer to keep WWE in Denver this weekend to tape Monday's edition of Raw on Sunday night at the Pepsi Center.

On Wednesday, Kroenke Sports claimed that WWE agreed to a deal on Tuesday. Kroenke executive Paul Andrews said they were surprised to find out that WWE was moving Raw TV to the Staples Center in Los Angeles after Vince McMahon did not return their calls to follow-up on the verbal agreement.

McMahon told the Denver Post that he "balked at the proposal" due to Kroenke's organization only being willing to pay "incremental costs" resulting from the change from Monday to Sunday. He also said Kroenke wanted to control WWE's public comments with a joint press release.

Kroenke executive Paul Andrews said on Wednesday that McMahon agreed to the joint press release. McMahon claims WWE was backed into a corner on Tuesday, then they decided as an organization to take Los Angeles's offer on Wednesday.

"When they say to us that we can't even come to a deal of any kind unless you agree to a joint press release, come on," McMahon said. "They're entitled to say and do whatever they want to do, and so is my organization."

Andrews told the Denver Post that McMahon is "a sensationalist." He repeated his claim that McMahon even asked for five tickets to Game Four of the Lakers-Nuggets series in Denver to personally apologize to Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke.
