Former WWE star Mr. Kennedy seemed like a sure-fire main eventer when he shot through the OVW developmental ranks under Paul Heyman's tutelage in 2005. However, nearly four years after his WWE TV debut in August 2005, Kennedy is no longer with the company.

His path to reportedly being released from WWE has been filled with well-documented ups and downs. Following is Kennedy's Tumultuous Timeline in WWE.

February 2005: WWE signed Kennedy (known as Ken Anderson) to a developmental contract.

August 2005: Anderson was re-named Mr. Kennedy when he debuted on WWE TV as part of the Smackdown brand.

November 11, 2005: Eddie Guerrero wrestled his final match on WWE TV during the Nov. 11 Smackdown broadcast when he defeated Mr. Kennedy.

December 2005: Kennedy tore a muscle in his back - his first major WWE injury - and was forced out of action for six months.

June 2006: Kennedy returned to WWE TV after his back injury.

July 23, 2006: Kennedy was injured in a match against Batista during the Great American Bash PPV. Kennedy was opened up hardway from the forehead and required stitches to close a wound in his head.

April 1, 2007: Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank ladder match to earn a future World Title opportunity. Less than two years after debuting on WWE TV, Kennedy seemed to be "fast-tracked" toward permanent main event status after spending most of 2006 involved in main event feuds on Smackdown and ECW TV.

May 7, 2007: On WWE Raw TV, Kennedy was scripted to lose his MITB briefcase to Edge, who took possession of the case to win another World Title. Kennedy "dropped the case" due to an apparently severe triceps injury. Kennedy was scheduled to miss at least five months of in-ring action, so WWE went ahead and changed the storyline.

May 9, 2007: As it turned out, the injury was not as severe as originally expected. Kennedy would only need a few weeks to recover from the triceps injury rather than several months as was originally thought.

June 2007: Kennedy was drafted to the Raw brand to re-start his main event push and be involved in Vince McMahon's "love child" storyline.

July 2007: Kennedy blasted the media after the Chris Benoit murder-suicide for stereotyping all wrestlers as drug-addicts and steroid users. "It's ridiculous, insane, and it really makes me sick that these so-called reporters ... call upon these silly bastards who are bitter and and frustrated that their careers have ended to represent the WWE which of course all makes us look like a bunch of babbling idiots who are all addicted to steroids, drugs, alcohol, etc."

August 2007: Mr. Kennedy was suspended 30 days for Wellness Policy violation as part of Sports Illustrated's published record of WWE wrestlers receiving shipments of drugs from banned provider. Kennedy officially received shipments of anastrozole, somatropin, and testosterone between October 2006 and February 2007.

Kennedy said in a March 2009 interview with the U.K. Sun that he thought the suspension was b.s. because he felt he had a legit medical condition that stemmed from steroid use prior to joining WWE because he was willing to do whatever was necessary to get noticed and signed by WWE. "I feel I had a legitimate medical condition. Someone will say 'you're not supposed to go online to get.' I never went online once. Never. It was an actual guy who said he was a doctor who I got my stuff from."

September 10, 2007: Kennedy's suspension was turned into a storyline when Vince McMahon said on Raw TV that Kennedy had been suspended "for impersonating a McMahon."

October 2007: Kennedy returned to WWE TV after serving his suspension.

April 2008: Kennedy was taken off WWE TV after WrestleMania 24 to film the "Behind Enemy Lines" movie in Puerto Rico.

June 2008: Kennedy was drafted back to the Smackdown brand after several false starts on the Raw brand.

August 2008: Kennedy dislocated his shoulder in a house show match, which prompted endless setbacks leading to his attempt to make a comeback from injury. Kennedy was sidelined from August 2008 until this past week's episode of Raw on May 25 when he made his in-ring return.

November 2008: Kennedy returned to WWE TV to promote the DVD release of "Behind Enemy Lines."

December 2008: WWE advertised Kennedy for the February house show tour of South America, expecting Kennedy to be prepared to return to wrestling.

December 2008: Kennedy said he is growing tired of being labeled "injury-plagued." ... "People say I'm snakebit, I'm plagued by injuries," he said. "It's the nature of our business. Injuries happen. It was a freak injury for me."

January 2009: Kennedy said he is one month away from returning from his August shoulder injury. Treatment did not progress as expected, as Kennedy needed four more months before returning in-ring.

March 2009: Kennedy was interviewed by the U.K. Sun where he defended his previous use of steroids. WWE asked that Kennedy's comments be removed from the audio interview because of Kennedy's discussion of steroids, but the comments remained in audio form.

April 2009: Kennedy was re-drafted to the Raw brand - his third draft move in three years. Although he was still injured at the time, WWE expected him to contribute soon when he was healed.

April 2009: Kennedy said in an interview that his shoulder injury was not healing and it could become a permanent injury. Kennedy said he's trying not to think about retirement despite his shoulder's poor condition.

May 25, 2009: Kennedy made his in-ring return on WWE TV when he participated in the ten-man tag match pitting the "Lakers" against the "Nuggets."

May 29, 2009: WWE announced on its website that Kennedy had been released by WWE.
