The following items were announced, clarified, or left in the dark on tonight's episode of WWE Raw:

-- ZZ Top will be the guest hosts on Raw next week from Raleigh, N.C. During the Raw broadcast, WWE teased several times that Dusty Rhodes would be the host. However, they announced at the end of the show that ZZ Top would host next week.

-- WWE officially confirmed Edge's serious Achilles injury that will put him out of action for months. They did not provide a timeline of when the injury occurred to remain consistent with WWE TV storylines since he was injured real-time before Friday's Smackdown aired when Edge appeared to be healthy.

WWE created a storyline for Chris Jericho to name his own partner to replace Edge as Unified tag team champion. Jericho did not name the new partner for his tag title defense against Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Jr. at the Night of Champions PPV.

-- WWE announced that Kozlov will face ECW champion Tommy Dreamer in a non-title match on tomorrow night's episode of ECW TV. Kozlov lost a #1 contender's match to Christian on last week's ECW TV. Christian is scheduled to face Dreamer for the title at the Night of Champions PPV.

-- U.S. champion Kofi Kingston still does not have a title defense scheduled for the Night of Champions PPV. WWE announcers acknowledged Kofi not having an opponent for the every-title-will-be-defended PPV, but it appears that Big Show and/or Evan Bourne will be involved in a title match at the PPV.
