The next WWE PPV on October 25, titled "Bragging Rights," will feature Raw vs. Smackdown matches. Tonight's announcement during the Hell in a Cell PPV did not provide any further details. However, the inDemand website does. It states:

"Bragging Rights are on the line in a special SmackDown vs. Raw tag-team main event featuring winners of the night’s matches. Don’t miss WWE Bragging Rights, with all your favorite Superstars including Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker and Rey Mysterio, Sunday, October 25, 8PM ET / 5PM PT, live on pay-per-view. A World Wrestling Entertainment Production."

Keller's Analysis: So this means we could see, for instance, Randy Orton & John Cena & Hornswoggle vs. R-Truth & Melina & The Hart Legacy - if Orton beats Undertaker, John Cena beat Batista, Hornswoggle beats Rey Mysterio, The Hart Legacy beat Cryme Tyme, and Melina beats Glamazon. But of course, that's hardly a prediction, but rather an example of the wide range of potential main events that could result from whatever Raw vs. Smackdown singles matches end up being booked. This gives WWE a chance to present a PPV with fresh interbrand match-ups and save viewers from some of the same rematches they've been presenting on PPV for months. It is tough to sell a PPV main event without being able to actually advertise what it will be, but the fresh match-ups otherwise could be enough to pop a better than average buyrate. It also probably means there will be stars from both brands on both shows. The lingering question is what happens to ECW wrestler? Are they going to done the striped shirts and referee all the matches? Are they being left off? Will they be thrown into some sort of three-way wildcard match where if ECW wins, the ECW wrestler or wrestlers can decide whether they want to join the Raw or Smackdown team come the man event. Many possibilities exist, but will the hype be focused enough to entice buys?
