Former pro wrestling manager/executive Paul Heyman posted a blog on his memories traveling on the road with Captain Lou Albano, who was notorious for his heavy drinking and wild behavior traveling from town to town.

Heyman also drew attention to Albano's good-hearted deeds. Torch readers have written in today with similar stories and memories on Albano's work in the community after his death.

Albano's heavy drinking was noted in recent autobiographies by Bret Hart and J.J. Dillon. Hart recalled a story where the Dynamite Kid told a liquored-up Albano to tell off Vince McMahon, Jr., who Albano wasn't fond off after the current WWE CEO bought then-WWWF from his father.

Heyman said in his blog Albano was gracious, endearing, and "never complained about anything except 'Vince Junior.'" Heyman summed up his view of Albano that he had a very wild side, but was a very kind person to people he knew and didn't know.

"He was loud, obnoxious, insane, and yet in many ways one of the most endearing human beings you'll ever meet," Heyman said. "Lou related to people, and at heart was a giving, caring, compassionate man who just wanted to entertain people. ... He was a loyal, affectionate husband and a damn good man."
