Former WWE wrestler Mr. Kennedy (Ken Anderson) says he was unhappy working in WWE for three years before he released in May of this year. Anderson says he felt like he was punched in the stomach when he was released, but he's moved on and says he wants to "stick it" to WWE for releasing him.

"I was pretty unhappy there for about three years. I thought that I could used a different way and I wasn't. That's okay. That was their business decision," Anderson told Phil Strum of the Poughkeepsie Journal. "Now, I'm going to try to stick it (to them) and prove them wrong. Hopefully, someday they'll look back and say '(expletive), we could have had that guy.'"

Anderson didn't mention the rumor of him joining TNA during the interview, but he focused on pursuing a movie career and getting work in the ring on high-profile independent shows overseas. Anderson says he was at a point where he didn't even want to wrestle again after his WWE release.

"I was in a place mentally where I hated wrestling. I hated it for a couple of months. I didn't know if I wanted to do this stuff anymore," Anderson said. "Getting back out, doing independent shows, reminded me that I still have a love for the business and I still enjoy being out there."

Anderson has been reinvigorated wrestling independent shows, but he says he wouldn't consider returning to WWE, even if they contacted him to return.

"Things would have to drastically change. Unfortunately, right now, I just can't even watch wrestling myself," he said. "To me, it's just not compelling television right now. I would like to make it compelling. I think I can help, but I can't do it by myself. ... So, until then, I'm just going to keep working on movies, TV, stuff like that."

Anderson is currently pursuing several different movie roles after hiring a talent agency to handling his wrestling bookings and movie readings. Anderson, who starred in WWE's "Behind Enemy Lines 3" straight-to-DVD movie, believes he'll eventually nail a role.

"I truly feel that within the next year, I'll be able to land some roles. I think the more they get me, it's just the numbers game," he said. "Eventually, something will stick."
