WWE has played hot-potato with the WWE Title throughout this decade, but title changes have typically occurred on PPVs and not on episodes of Raw.

The WWE Title has also been featured exclusively on Smackdown at various times this decade, but a new WWE champion has only been determined on Raw four times this decade.

Current WWE champion Sheamus will defend the title against John Cena on tonight's Raw, which brings into perspective some facts on WWE Title changes on Raw.

The last time the WWE Title was won on Raw was in June 2009 when Randy Orton was booked to win a four-way title match after Batista vacated the title due to a biceps injury.

The last time the title actually changed hands on Raw with the champion being involved in the match was in July 2006 when Edge won a three-way match against John Cena and then-champion RVD.

The last time the title changed hands on Raw in a singles match was in October 2001 when Steve Austin was booked to defeat then-champion Kurt Angle. It was Austin's final WWE Title run.

Interestingly, the WWE Title changed hands on the first episode of Raw to start the decade on January 3, 2000 when Triple H was booked to win the title from Big Show.

Tonight, WWE closes the decade with the final title match on Raw with the chance to book-end Triple H's title win on Raw to start the decade or follow the pattern of the title rarely changing hands on Raw.
