WWE announcer Jim Ross posted a new blog on jrsbarbq.com today dissecting the WWE vs. TNA battle on cable TV last night. Ross did not mention the letters "TNA," but he did write about three of the major stories from Impact last night with emphasis on Jeff Hardy, Ric Flair, and Kurt Angle's WWE backgrounds.

"My loyalty is clearly still with WWE but I am sure that Monday night proved to be an exciting one for more objective fans," Ross said.

-- Ross on Jeff Hardy's TNA return: "It surprised me to see Jeff Hardy on Spike TV Monday night. ... I'm a Jeff Hardy fan and I wish him well. Jeff had a great tenure in WWE and considering that I signed him and his brother Matt to their first WWE contracts, I will always consider the Hardy brothers as being special."

-- Ross on Ric Flair's TNA debut: "Knowing how much Ric Flair still enjoys wrestling I was not shocked to see Ric on another channel Monday night. WWE gave Ric the greatest send-off/retirement presentation that I have ever witnessed but nonetheless 'Naitch' has wrestling running through his veins and he's going lace 'em up until he simply can't do it any longer."

-- Ross on the Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Stlyes match: "Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle, another one of the guys that I signed to their first WWE contract, and A.J. Styles had a truly excellent wrestling match that I got glimpses of Monday night."

-- Ross praised the Bret Hart, Vince McMahon, and Shawn Michaels interaction on Raw for keeping him hooked to see the payoff at the end of the show with Hart and McMahon face-to-face, as well as the eventual payoff down the road between McMahon and Hart in a WrestleMania encounter.

Caldwell's Analysis: Ross was pretty clear in his loyalty to WWE with each main point in his blog. He was sure to note that each of the mentioned "surprises" on Impact was influenced by WWE events, such as Jeff Hardy being a major star recently for WWE, Ric Flair receiving an amazing send-off from WWE in 2008, and Kurt Angle getting his major break in the wrestling business from WWE to suggest TNA benefited from WWE's platform.
