WWE wrestler John Morrison, who has been working the interview circuit this week promoting his new DVD and the Elimination Chamber PPV, shed some more light on the NXT format in an interview with Brian Fritz on Fanhouse.com.

Morrison said it's a "new take" on the Tough Enough reality competition, which he won in Season 3 to become a WWE wrestler. Morrison suggested the TV segments will be taped at the standard Raw and Smackdown TV tapings with the eight WWE Pros interacting with the eight developmental wrestlers apparently at each week's tapings.

"It's cool because it uses people who might not be super-busy at TV as the pros for it and it gets them doing something," Morrison said. "I think it's going to have the same appeal as Tough Enough did where somebody like myself when I was a kid who might want to get into sports entertainment and not know how. They can see that show and figure out a little more on what it takes to make it to the WWE. I think it's going to be a great show. It's a great concept."

Morrison said he was asked about being part of the first season, but he says WWE has other plans for him during the first NXT "season."

"They had asked me about it and I told them I'd love to be a mentor but this season I think they have some other plans," Morrison said. "I'm going to be a little too busy during the filming of NXT to do the first season."

Morrison, who regularly cuts in-character promos on The Miz during interviews, said he hopes Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) teaches Miz how to wrestle.

"They've got The Miz on there and he's mentoring Bryan Danielson who I actually think is a lot better than he is. (laughs) So it will be good for The Miz," Morrison joked. "He can learn how to wrestle, hopefully, this season on NXT."
