WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently evaluated the NXT show on jrsbarbq.com, saying the show needs "a few subtle tweaks" to be a successful new program as part of WWE's TV line-up.

"I feel that all the rookies need to live together in a dorm and we should be privy to their interactions and training sessions," Ross said. "I want to know more about the non wrestler side of these potential stars."

Ross said the overall goal of getting new stars from developmental on WWE TV to find out whether they can actually be stars for WWE is the main positive from the show.

"Overall I do like the fact that WWE is finally using some of the young kids and allowing them to sink or swim," he said.

Caldwell's Analysis: Ross's take on the show is more what I thought the show would be like where the FCW wrestlers wouldn't be exposed in the WWE arena setting right away with fans sitting on their hands for most of the NXT action. I've also been disappointed WWE hasn't presented the "in-between shows" type interaction between Rookies and Pros that would make more intriguing TV to see how the wrestlers interact during the week after whatever happens on the previous NXT episode. Darren Young and C.M. Punk's relationship as Rookie and Pro has so much potential to be an intriguing piece of TV each week, yet we haven't seen much of anything from that pairing since Weeks 1 & 2. WWE has done just enough to have a passable show, but not enough to fit the "innovative, never-before-seen" tag lines from Vince McMahon that were ringing in our ears for three weeks.
