WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross responded to questions about his future in WWE, especially after not being assigned an announcing role at WrestleMania 26, and updated his contract status in a blog posted today on jrsbarbq.com.

Ross, who said in his Q&A section that he "never spoke to (Vince) McMahon once in Arizona" during WrestleMania Weekend, has a deadline this month to renew his short-term contract extension. He said it's up to WWE to present him with an offer to continue working with the company. One potential role that Ross cited is talent scouting or development.

"There are no issues or problems with my negotiations with WWE. The ball is in WWE's court to put together a new role for me within the company," Ross said. "Essentially they have decided to reassign me from weekly broadcasting and that includes the monthly PPVs to focus on other areas of the company."

"I simply was passed over for the gig just like several wrestlers who did not have much more than a cup of coffee, if that, at WM26," Ross said. "Those opportunities are earned or at least that's how it should be and should be for the betterment of the overall show. Do I think that I could have added a little something to the presentation this past Sunday? Oh, hell yeah."

Ross said it would be a "no-brainer" to re-sign with WWE on a multi-year deal if presented with a new role with a favorable travel schedule and financial terms in place. One other option would be to be involved in the WWE TV Network expected to launch in summer 2011.

Ross also stated he expects to write a book "without question" covering an extensive career interacting with "some very unique individuals within American pop culture."
