Former WWE Divas champion Melina posted a very passionate blog on WWE Universe today defending the women's divisions in WWE and talking up each Diva on the roster.

Melina, who has been out of action in 2010 with a leg injury, posted the blog after making a comment about Eve Torres's Divas Title victory on last week's Raw affecting the credibility of the title.

Melina described a very ideal situation where the belt would be over and a title change to an up-and-comer would have legitimate meaning.

"The best in the company should hold it to give the title WORTH! To bring validity and honor. So when it’s time to give it to a up and coming Diva, the WWE Universe will have no doubt in their minds that this woman is a true champion. That she deserved and earned it," Melina said.

Melina, taking a leadership role as one of the more recognizable Divas of this generation of women's wrestlers, also talked about trying to stand out from the "Trish Stratus & Lita" era.

"We are trying to break away from being compared to the Lita/Trish era because we want the world to see us for who we are... to respect us and see the talent that we have, because the women in our company ARE and can be Just As Good," Melina said.

Caldwell's Analysis: Unfortunately, WWE would have to completely overhaul their philosophy on the women's divisions and how to utilize the Divas on their roster. You can't have the women on the roster in Baywatch Babes matches and bull-riding contests, then turn around and try to get over titles and actual competitive wrestling matches. Melina has expressed tremendous passion for women's wrestling on her blogs, but unless WWE "hands her the book" and tells her to go ahead and book the division (but fit it into the overall flow of WWE Raw every Monday), I don't see anything changing. It's unfortunate when WWE has talented women's wrestlers on both rosters who aren't given an opportunity to sink or swim in the ring on a consistent basis.
