WWE champion John Cena addressed Randy Orton's injury, Batista "quitting WWE," and Shawn Michaels's retirement in posts on Twitter this morning.

"I do not know Randy Orton's condition so I really don't want to speak on his behalf although I do hope he is well," Cena said about Orton's reported separated shoulder. "I have said it time and time again about him, he is one of the best I've ever seen."

Cena then addressed Batista "quitting WWE" on Raw as part of a storyline write-off. Cena's comments fall in that "worked shoot based on hints of truth" category where it seems storyline-driven.

"As for Batista, I never know how permanent 'quitting' really is. The only two I've seen quit, and truly not come back yet are JBL and HBK."

Cena clarified what he meant about Shawn Michaels leaving WWE after apparently receiving a Twitter backlash: "Sorry, outpouring of tweets are correct. HBK did retire, which isn't as angry as quitting."

Caldwell's Analysis: It's interesting to compare Ric Flair saying in an interview this week that he believes Michaels will come back for a PPV match, while Cena said he doesn't think Michaels will truly come back to wrestle after retiring at WrestleMania. The interesting procession is Ric Flair "retired from WWE" at WrestleMania 24 and came back to TNA, JBL quit at WrestleMania 25 and hasn't come back, and Michaels retired at WrestlleMania 26.
