After a week of anticipation for the follow-up to last week's "NXT Invasion" angle on WWE Raw, the Season One NXT Rookies were involved in the beginning, middle, and end of tonight's episode.

The conclusion of the follow-up angle this week featured the Rookies throwing Raw GM Bret Hart in a limo, an unidentified driver repeatedly smashing the limo into parked cars, and the Rookies demanding WWE contracts on this Sunday's Fatal Four-Way PPV.

The angle was set up earlier in the show when Wade Barrett requested contracts for the other NXT Rookies. Bret Hart responded by firing Barrett, who won a WWE contract by winning the first season of NXT, and kicking the other six Rookies out of the building.

Bryan Danielson's name came up during the show-opening exchange between Hart and Barrett. As part of the storyline to explain Danielson's firing announced on Friday, Barrett said Danielson "was remorseful of his actions" last week on Raw and was kicked out of the "rebel NXT group."

The write-off for Danielson sets up a potential babyface return associating with the regular WWE stars against the NXT Rookies invading the show.

After the show-opening angle involving Barrett and Hart where the Rookies were "kicked out of the building", the Rookies returned at the top of the second hour to interrupt a promo by WWE champion John Cena.

Cena challenged the Rookies to return on next week's Raw and answer his challenge, but they appeared in the stands leading to another big brawl. Cena was backed up by most of the Raw brand wrestlers to fend off the NXT Rookies.

The Rookies then re-appeared in the Raw main event of Cena & Randy Orton vs. Sheamus & Edge to set up the four-way WWE Title match at the Fatal Four-Way PPV.

As the match was drawing to its conclusion, the lights went off in the arena as part of the next stage of the angle. The camera cut to backstage where the NXT Rookies dragged Bret Hart into the limo to begin a vehicular assault. The rest of the Raw roster was assembled on the stage in the arena to prevent another in-ring attack during the main event.
