FCW house show report
June 16, 2010
Deland, Fla.
Report by Rick Medders, PWTorch reader

I attended WWE's Florida Championship Wrestling developmental show last night with my son. Here's what happened on the show.

(1) Lucky Cannon beat Big E. Langston. This was mostly a one-sided match with Big E. being the main aggressor (he is huge up close). Lucky scored the pinfall with a roll-up pin. Not a very good match.

(2) Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer beat Kaval & Yoshi Tatsu. Very good match with a few big spots. Yoshi made fun of Vance's tramp stamp and said Archer was the girl in his relationship with Curt. Very funny. They kept pulling up his tights the whole time. Kaval hit a huge dropkick off the top rope across the ring, but Vance hit his finisher on Yoshi while Kaval was outside the ring with Curt.

(3) Rhys Ali beat Shad Gaspard. Shad pretty much dominated the whole match, but Ryhs got the win with a roll-up pin. Very slow match.

Byron Sexton came out saying since ECW was no longer around and he was needed as a announcer, he is going to take a young wrestler under his wing. He announced that wrestler is Rudy Parker. Rudy came out and seemed to not want to have anything to do with Byron. Music hit, and out comes Abraham Washington. He ran down the crowd and town of Deland. He said he was granted a temporary managerial license and wanted to manage someone against Rudy for tonight. If Rudy won, Abraham would apologize to the crowd. Rudy accepted much to the disapproval of Byron. Out came Mason Ryan.

(4) Mason Ryan (w/Abraham Washington) beat Rudy Parker (w/Byron Sexton). Decent match that saw Mason get the win.

The next match was a Divas match. Alicia Fox and Liviana came out first. Next, Naomi Night was announced as the first FCW Women's champ, which I have read has not been televised yet. Naomi said she wanted a WWE Diva in her corner, so she announced Natayla. She came out a nice pop from the crowd.

(5) Alicia Fox & Liviana beat Naomi Night & Natayla. I'm not a huge Divas wrestling fan, but this match was actually entertaining with Alicia have many big spots. The ending saw Alicia and Liviana win after Tamina interfered in the match.

(6) FCW tag team champions Los Aviadors beat Danny Marlow & Brodus Clay to retain the FCW Tag Titles. Good back and forth match that saw Los Aviadors retain their titles after they double-teamed Brodus.

(7) FCW Hvt. champion Alex Riley beat Johnny Curtis to retain the FCW Hvt. Title. Alex came out to a lot of heat from the crowd. He is very good in that Miz-style role. Good back-and-forth action with several big spots and Alex got the win with his finisher when Johnny failed to hit his finisher.

(8) WWE Unified tag champions Hart Dynasty (w/Natayla) beat The Uso Brothers (w/Tamina) to retain the Unified Tag Titles. Great match. It rivaled any match you would see from these guys on Raw. There were several nice tag team spots and even a good bump on the floor, which wasn't padded and just concrete. The ending saw The Hart Dynasty hit their finisher for the win. Great match.

All in all, it was a great show. Every wrestler was into it and seemed to put forth 100 percent effort. It was nice to see a good mix of new and more established wrestlers. The Hart Dynasty signed autographs before the event for probably an hour and was very cordial. I also saw Norman Smiley and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in attendance.

FCW's next show in Deland is July 10. It will have an autograph session with Dusty Rhodes and Goldust. Also, there will be a Raw house show in Daytona Beach on July 31.
