Former WWE wrestler Carlito Colon was recently interviewed for Puerto Rican wrestling TV talking about his WWE release. Carlito, in Spanish, mainly talked about wanting to get out of his WWE contract and masking his depression with pain pills.

Carlito said he asked for his release several times over the last year due to his contract being up in 2011. He said he gave up during the last year because he felt he wasn't used properly. His feeling is that WWE is great if you're being used the right way, but it "sucks if you are not."

Carlito admitted to using painkillers, but downplayed it as being an issue, saying most wrestlers use painkillers. (Wrestlers who have kicked the habit and are trying to change the culture of painkiller addiction in wrestling will take exception to that.)

In the second part of the interview, Carlito said he was was upset with his father, WWC promoter Carlos Colon, for talking about his drug usage without talking to him first. When Carlito was released from WWE in May, Carlos quickly downplayed any issues Carlito was having issues, obviously to protect his business.

Carlito said he feels that he has no problem with pills; that towards the end of his run with WWE, he was so depressed that he was taking the pills to mask his depression.

Regarding an angle in WWC with Savio Vega calling him a heroin user on a news program in Puerto Rico, Carlito said he was upset when he heard that. He said Savio is just upset because he was more successful in WWE than him.

Carlito claimed to have been contacted by "all the wrestling companies so far," but right now he's recharging his batteries.

When asked about his brother, Primo, still being in WWE, Carlito said that right now he's happy and that he would never influence or poison him about WWE. At the end, he said he felt foolish the last two years in WWE doing comedy skits.
