-- WWE wrestler Drew McIntyre addressed his work visa issue that led to him temporarily being written off TV last month in an interview with Greg Oliver of Slam Wrestling.

"There was a process that had to be done, and a way it had to be done. It had to be done when it had to be done," McIntyre said. "I was always aware of the process that had to be done. It was blown out of proportion by so many people. ... What you saw on TV was exactly the truth. It had to be done at that time."

McIntyre also talked about the Money in the Bank match on Sunday, predicting that Smackdown's version would surpass Raw's version, his recent wedding to WWE Diva Tiffany, and other topics.

-- Kofi Kingston has multiple interviews promoting the MITB PPV on Sunday. Kingston hits WWE's selling points for the PPV of big spots, athleticism, and excitement, with some emphasis on there actually being a World Title opportunity on the line.

Kingston addressed a hypothetical heel turn down the road in an interview with Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun and suggested it's up to the audience to decide how to react to him.

"People talk about good guys and bad guys but over the past few years the line has really kind of been blurred. ... I think as far as me being a good guy or a bad guy it's really kind of up to the WWE Universe and how they perceive me. As long as they keep liking me, I guess we'll go that route, but you never know what the future holds."

Kingston also talked to Matt Fowler of IGN.com and Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald discussing the MITB PPV with safe comments promoting the "concept match" aspect of Sunday's PPV.

Caldwell's Analysis: The wrestlers have a job to do hitting the selling points for WWE's latest concept PPV each month, but a mindset seems to be developing that "cool" gimmicks and stipulation matches are what sell PPVs in 2010. It's not, especially when the audience has seen every variation and permutation of multiple-man and gimmick matches that could possibly be conceived. What sells are one-on-one (or tag team) match-ups that are built on an issue that's peaking at the right moment for the PPV.

The idea that casual fans will spend money to see two gimmick matches involving 16 individuals crashing and burning and a bunch of highspots is destined to fail. Fans could watch the WrestleMania 26 DVD and tune in to Raw on Monday night to see what happened on the PPV the night before. In this era in pro wrestling, if WWE is going to get people to care enough to spend $44.95 and three hours of their time on a Sunday night, there needs to be a relatable, tangible issue in-play between two big stars that naturally leads to a wrestling match with something on the line.

As for Kingston's comment on heels and faces, it's the job of the writers to manipulate characters to where they're out-of-line (heel) or in-line (face) with the values of the majority of the audience. Successful business isn't built on a general blurring of the line with every character on the roster; it inevitably leads to indifference from the audience. There has to be a clear presentation of "these are the character traits of this individual and here are the traits of another individual" with the writers trying to manipulate the audience to react a specific way in order to make money.
