Quinnipiac University released their latest poll results concerning the Connecticut Senate race today, revealing that former WWE CEO Linda McMahon is in two tight races.

McMahon's immediate concern is the Republican primary election on August 10. McMahon's chief opponent, Rob Simmons, closed the gap to McMahon by ten points since the last Quinnipiac poll.

Simmons re-started his campaign since the last poll, which predictably led to an increase in his numbers. Simmons was running very close with McMahon prior to McMahon receiving the Connecticut Republican party's nomination in May.

The specifics are McMahon leads 47-30 percent over Simmons. Simmons gained ten points in the poll, which helped erase a 27 point deficit in the previous polling.

The other race that became tighter was McMahon's potential showdown with Democratic candidate Richard Blumenthal. McMahon has closed the gap to a ten percent difference.

Blumenthal scored 50 percent of the hypothetical vote, compared to 40 percent for McMahon. Last month, Blumenthal scored 54 percent compared to 37 percent for McMahon. The three-month trend is as follows:

-- June results: Blumenthal 55-35 percent.
-- July results: Blumenthal 44-37 percent.
-- August results: Blumenthal 50-40 percent.

Also looking at the "favorability factor," McMahon's score was unchanged from the last poll while Blumenthal's score dropped.

Last month, Blumenthal had a 60-28 percent favorability rating among likely Connecticut voters. This month, Blumenthal dropped to a 57-30 percent score. McMahon remained at 43-37 percent.
