WWE wrestler Bret Hart talked at-length about closure, forgiveness, and moving on from the events that followed the 1997 Montreal Screwjob in an interview with Perry Lefko on Slam Wrestling reflecting on his return to WWE in 2010.

The long article on Hart's personal life and professional career heading into Summerslam, where he will be part of the Team WWE vs. Team Nexus, includes comments from Hart on his "match" against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26.

"I thought the whole thing at Wrestlemania, even though it was just wrestling gaga, was a nice kind of closure for the Hart family," Hart said. "I know my sisters and brothers had a great time playing their parts and watching this whole thing - one last moment for the Hart family. Who knows there may be more."

Hart also acknowledged being shaky, at times, on the mic during live interviews on WWE TV. Hart said his 2002 stoke still affects him in that he has to fight self-doubt in his new role on TV.

"Because of my concussions and my stroke to memorize lines that are given to you 20 minutes before you walk out and to try to pull that off without any blips is a challenge every night," Hart said. "I really hunker down and I study everything and I give my best shot out there all the time. I'm happy with the job I've done. Every week I show up it's all a throwback into my stroke and the resisting of it."

Hart added: "I prepared myself for the simple fact I could bomb and take down my image a notch or two and people would look at me and feel sorry for me almost. I feared that. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me. I want to come back and make people proud of me. The biggest thing I've got from people is taking that step forward to sort of forgive everybody."

Hart reflected on him coming back to "bury the hatchet" with Shawn Michaels, bring closure to Survivor Series with Vince McMahon, and "giving his blessing" to the Hart Family being involved with WWE again. Martha Hart's name did not come up as a dissenting view.

Hart added that he believes his return to WWE gave WWE a boost and also gave McMahon some satisfaction with TNA competing on Monday nights for a brief period of time this year.

"In the end now looking back, I think it's been a really good thing for everybody. I think fans have enjoyed it. I think it's given wrestling a little spark and maybe gave Vince a little bit of a brand in stomping out (TNA) when they were trying to make a presence for themselves," Hart said.

Caldwell's Analysis: At least Hart believes there was some closure at WrestleMania 26, which might have been the sole redeeming quality of the match. Meanwhile, the audience sat through a long, drawn-out ordeal between Hart and McMahon that was painful to watch. Hart's entire interview on Slam Wrestling is worth reading for more quotes and insight from Hart on where he is mentally after this 2010 WWE run.
