Smackdown taping for December 3 episode

Rey Mysterio comes out for a promo. The ring is surrounded by tables, ladders, and chairs. He recaps the last two weeks with Alberto Del Rio and he costing each other matches. Rey climbs the center ladder and Del Rio interrupts. They have a back and forth exchange. Rey states they have a match at TLC, but Del Rio refuses to accept. Rey hits him with the mic and they have a brief brawl with Rey putting Alberto through a ringside table. Rey leaves. Alberto gets up and declares he still wants to fight. Rey comes back out without his shirt and puts Del Rio through another table.

(1) IC champion Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) & Drew McIntyre beat MVP & Kaval when Dolph pinned Kaval. Nice tag match. Huge MVP chants. Kaval has Dolph in the Dragon Sleeper, but Vickie distracts the ref. Drew hits Kaval to break the hold and Dolph executes the Zig-Zag for the win.

Post-match: Kane’s pyro immediately goes off and he comes to the ring. He chokeslams MVP and Tombstones Kaval before calling out Edge. Edge appears on the big screen with Paul Bearer. Kane heads for the back, which begins these skits where Kane is about to catch Edge, but Edge throws Paul into something. When Kane thinks Paul has been destroyed, it is revealed to be a mannequin. He falls for this twice.

(2) Kofi Kingston beat Jack Swagger to become the #1 contender to the IC Title. Some mistimed moves in this one. Kofi kicks Swagger in the head for the pin.

(3) "Dashing" Cody Rhodes beat Chris Masters with the Cross Rhodes.

(4) Layla (w/Michelle McCool) beat Rose Mendes with the Layout (rude awakening). Lay-cool starts to double team Rosa when Hornswoggle makes the save. Suddenly, Beth Phoenix is out to beat up Lay-cool. The soaring eagle storms the ring to confront Hornswoggle and he gives him a boot or a claw to the face. Beth then gives the eagle the Glamslam and Hornswoggle follows with the Tadpole splash.

(5) Edge beat World Hvt. champion Kane in a non-title match. Teddy Long comes out to reiterate that the winner chooses the stipulation for their match a TLC. Tony Chimel’s voice cracked when saying Edge is the "Rated R Superstar," which made my night. When Kane goes for a chokeslam, Paul Bearer appears on the big screen pleading for help. Kane leaves the ring, but before he is counted out, he turns around and beats the count. Upon re-rntering the ring, he is immediately speared by Edge for the finish.

Post-match: Edge chooses a TLC match at the PPV. Edge says that since he got what he wanted, Kane can have Bearer back. He rolls him out and leaves. Kane walks up to Paul and it is revealed to be a fake. Kane beats up the fake until the real Bearer appears on the screen. Kane heads to the back where Bearer is on the back of a tow truck. Edge drives off with Bearer still captive and Kane, the heel, cries for his father.

End taping.

Afterward, Tony Chimel wishes everyone a good night and the ring crew starts to break the ring down. No explanation was given why the advertised six-man tag match did not take place.

An interesting note is that the row behind me was full of seat fillers. A mass email went out asking for volunteers to be seat fillers. They were given free admission to the event. When the camera was about to pan a section with empty chairs, someone came over and directed them to that section to fill in the empty seats.
