Royal Rumble winner Dave Bautista acknowledged fan resentment Tuesday on Twitter.

"Just met a kid in Pittsburgh who traveled all the way from Munich to watch the Royal Rumble. Humbling. And no! He didn't tell me I sucked!" Batista tweeted.

Batista was heavily booed as the Rumble winner, especially after fan favorite Daniel Bryan was not included in the Rumble match. According to live reports, Batista flipped off fans after the PPV went off the air.

Monday on Raw, Batista's Rumble victory was given secondary focus behind controversy over Daniel Bryan's exclusion from the Rumble.

Caldwell's Analysis: So much of pro wrestling is about timing. For Batista, it was wrong place and wrong time, in terms of fan reception, but good timing for getting a two-year WWE contract. Vocal fans are supporting a fighting underdog who is not the typical "WWE Superstar," whose character was screwed out of the WWE Title on four consecutive PPVs in late 2013, then pushed out of the title picture, then pushed out of the Rumble match. Batista did not help matters by how he returned on WWE TV last week - both in terms of how he carried himself and in the storyline context of hugging the evil heel authority figures - but returning to WWE to "take Bryan's slot" created resentment toward Batista that likely would not be present any other time. Using John Cena's 30/70 workout plan rule, it's 30 percent Batista and 70 percent wrong place, wrong time.
