ROH TV HITS

Necro_Torch2_4.jpg
The Embassy vs. The Dark City Fight Club: News alert - the Embassy has creeped into my "hitlist" (copyright Jason Powell). Necro Butcher has slowly started to upgrade his look. That, in itself, is a good thing. As for the match, it was solid and I have no real complaints about it. Necro's involvement was kept to a minimum as Erick Stevens, John Davis, and Kory Chavis carried the action. It was actually nice to see The Embassy win a match clean, as well.

Colt Cabana vs. Jay Freddie: Sure, this match was just over a minute long, but Cabana can put on a comedy filler match in a way that easily tops WWE's presentation of the Santino Marella character. I would have liked a bit more post-match action between Cabana and Steve Corino, but it was fine for what it was. Both men are embattled in a feud that is one of the year's best and it's been a slow burn to keep it going, so I can't complain about the limited interaction.

"Glory By Honor IX" Internet PPV recap: This was a week late and was one of my "misses" last week. However, this week's recap of the PPV was pretty good. If this video had aired last week, the fact that there was minimal mention on the taped show wouldn't have been such a big deal. But, for more on that critique, read last week's review.

Sara Del Rey vs. Taeler Hendrix: This wasn't one of the better matches from "The Queen of Wrestling," but it was still decent for what it was. I'd like to see ROH bring in Mickie James and have her feud with Del Rey. I think they'd have a heck of a string of matches; probably the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time from women's wrestling. The lack of competition in ROH is the only thing that is missing for Del Rey as one of the "Women of Honor." I've seen her wrestle elsewhere and she's easily one of the best in the world. Now, ROH just needs to bring in a few women to have an actual feud with her.

Delirious vs. Austin Aries (Steel Cage Match): This was a darn good match that had me glued to the screen throughout. The finish was a cool deal with Aries tapping out while on top of the cage. I was a bit surprised when Delirious was attacked afterward by the All Night Express, though. But, after seeing that Delirious will now be "out of commission" for a while because of the attack, it appears the feud is going away or will be on the back-burner for quite sometime. I'm assuming Delirious is taking himself off TV so that he can focus on his new booking duties within the company. However, I am looking forward to what looks like a potential Aries-Christopher Daniels feud that has started to bud. This might sound like a ROH cliche, but the these two guys should also be able to put on another really good series of matches.

ROH TV MISSES

None: This was a solid show from start to finish. Nothing stuck out as bad and ROH is the only promotion that somewhat consistently has zero-to-one misses weekly. Another good week from the ultimate underdog promotion.
