With tomorrow night being the expected debut of Rob Van Dam in TNA, the first question on my mind is, "where does he fit in?" TNA has done a good job of placing most, if not all, of their top talent in feuds at this point, giving each one of them something to do. There aren't a whole lot of guys whocan step in and feud with Van Dam right now. Of course, that is with the expectation that he'd step right into the main event scene, which isn't a guarantee.

They could have Van Dam start off in the X Division, perhaps giving that group a little bit of star power and legitimacy. But the division has been treated as an afterthought during the Bischoff/Hogan regime, so perhaps they'd want Van Dam to make a bigger impact than that. Christopher Daniels hasn't had much to do lately, so Van Dam could feud with him to start with. Daniels has been de-emphasized as of late, but he's got main event experience at least, and thus wouldn't seem like a huge step down for RVD. A few other guys to consider pitting him against in his first feud would be Desmond Wolfe or Orlando Jordan.

The other option would be to shoot RVD straight to the top, and somehow work him into the Abyss-AJ Styles angle. That would put him in World Title contention upon his debut, which, if TNA really wants him to make an impact, they'd have to consider doing. But then again, even Jeff Hardy made his debut during an X Division match rather than a World Title match. I suppose that's a different case, as Hardy may not have even had a contract at the time, and TNA may not have wanted to set expectations too high as it pertains to his future. In the end, TNA has a few options on where to slot Van Dam upon his debut.
