A dull night was made even duller by the fact that T.C. Hooligan's, our usual PPV hangout spot, was not offering this one. That meant we had to order it at our apartment, and it was just Kurt and I for the event. We were both down about our football teams' performances today (he rooting for the Panthers and I for the Jaguars), so perhaps that clouded my enjoyment of the show. In lieu of bar food, I settled for fried dough from a local pizza place, as well as leftover lasagna that I cooked for my girlfriend Friday night (please, hold your applause).

(1) Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler: Once again from Ziggler, just too much resting here it felt like. Maybe it was to give the announcers more time to make fun of Vickie; at least, that's how it seemed. I laughed out loud at Matt Striker saying, "you can see this every Friday night on Smackdown," because literally, you've been able to see this exact match EVERY Friday on Smackdown lately, it seems. Kurt reminisced to the days when a babyface would grab the heel female manager, and you'd wonder as a fan if the face would actually hit her. The match felt a bit disjointed and seemed to be more about the impending breakup of Vickie and Dolph rather than Kofi and Dolph. *3/4

(2) CM Punk vs. The Big Show: What a waste Punk's promo was, because the crowd didn't exactly turn on him during the match. Speaking of which....let's not. Kurt from the kitchen upon hearing Show's music: "It's over already?" *

(3) The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan: Not much to really be said about this one. Thought they might want Miz to get a big win over Bryan first, but I guess not. Match really picked up at the end, just to get it to three stars. ***

(4) Michelle McCool vs. Melina: I was surprised that Lawler was owning Striker on commentary tonight, in their monthly battle of wits. Seemed like the moves from the two ladies all looked very light. We didn't even recognize Layla when she interfered, for some reason. 1/2*

(5) Undertaker vs. Kane: It seemed like plants or marks were stationed in the front row; I can't otherwise explain a (grown) fan yelling, "you can do it, win that World Title Undertaker!" as he was down. The match went about as you'd expect. I was waiting for the ending to King's story about he and his brother fighting to see who was the alpha male! Who won!?! I think this match set a record for punches thrown. Kurt began to zone out during this one, as he gets up early for work. I was more down on this match than Wade and James. **1/4

(6) Tag Team Turmoil: The Usos got a nice lil' boost of credibility during this one. Kurt and I joked about other teams that could be inserted at the end of this one, like the Dudleys and other, less likely, teams. **1/4

(7) Six-Pack Challenge: Uh, Jericho was out WAY early. I assume that'll play into the continuing storyline with him tomorrow night and beyond. Good, solid match here. I think I was one of the few who picked Orton to win. ***3/4

Just above a thumbs up, let's call it a 6.0, mostly due to the fact that I love this format (making titles MEAN something- how about that!) and they had a few good matches. Nothing terribly stand-out though.
