The last time Gail Kim appeared in a professional wrestling ring on national TV was the Aug. 21 edition of TNA Impact when she lost to Awesome Kong in a Street fight. She was believed to have signed with WWE to join the Divas on either Raw or Smackdown, but it has been two months since she left TNA and she has not appeared on WWE TV.

Dory Funk, Jr. issued a press release on Wednesday that Gail was stripped of his school's Women's Title. From the release: "Gail Kim was the last to hold the Funking Conservatory Women's Championship and now Gail Kim's commitments to future endeavors have resulted in her relinquishing her title and belt."

The announcement from Funk, Jr. would indicate Gail is committed to WWE where she would be unable to take independent bookings, such as with the Conservatory in Florida.

On Gail's official website, there is a headline from October 12 that "Gail Kim is not retiring." This came after she personally updated her status on Oct. 9 that she "will be returning to the ring soon."

Gail wrote: "I'm not making any comment about what is happening in my life professionally just yet so I'm sorry to disappoint. I'm a pretty private person for the most part so I don't feel so comfortable just talking about everything so openly."

Caldwell's Analysis: One of the glaring things missing from the TNA Knockouts division has been that go-to babyface character ever since Gail left two months ago. Taylor Wilde was a solid champion, but there hasn't been a "Gail Kim" to step up and fill the void. Meanwhile, WWE could use a fresh babyface women's wrestler on Raw. Candice Michelle is limited in the ring, while WWE has given up and re-pushed and repeated with Mickie James so many times that fans aren't sure whether to invest emotions in her.

Gail is a valuable female wrestler on any roster, so taking two months away from the spotlight will probably help her when she steps back into the ring, whenever that might be. Dory Funk, Jr. taking his school's Women's Title off Gail due to her "future endeavors" is a strong indication that Gail will be appearing on WWE TV in the future. Stay tuned.
