SHOW SUMMARY: In our latest episode of Alan4L’s ProWres Paradise, PWTorch columnist Alan4L is joined by Manu Romero for the September edition of “What’s on the Telly?” In this monthly series, Alan and his guest will each pick an episode of wrestling TV from that month in the past and break it down. This month, we play with the calendar a little bit and bend the rules slightly, but it was worth it to have Manu discuss a really important and under-discussed piece of wrestling history – that being the first ever WWF TV show on television in Spain. “Pressing Catch” as it was known emanated from a packed Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona in front of 19,000 fans seeing stars such as The Rockers, The Undertaker, and Tito Santana. Manu provides a ton of really interesting background info about the show, from translations of the commentary to the involvement of one Silvio Berlusconi! For Alan’s pick it was back to 1983 and this time a jaunt in to see Lance & Dave in the Memphis studio once again. It was the typical CWA fun with Lawler, Dundee, Hart, and all the gang, including a very special guest by telephone! So as the Autumn colors appear, fall back into the couch and check out what’s on the telly!
NOTE 1: Very minor (and hopefully unnoticeable) audio issue early in the show, but it was fixed 15 minutes in.
NOTE 2: This was taped before the untimely passing of one of Alan’s all time favorite wrestlers – Pac. We’ll have more about Ben in future shows. RIP to a legend.
