[HOUR ONE]
-They opened with a video package on the Roman Reigns-Sami Zayn in-ring segment on Raw earlier this week.
-As Sami Zayn made his way to the ring with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, Michael Cole and Corey Graves introduced the show and noted that Sami would face Roman at Crown Jewel in two weeks. (He said Crown Jewel, but did not say where it would take place. The graphic has not changed and still says “Riyadh.” The start time remains 12 ET.)
Sami heard boos and asked, “Now, you don’t mean that, do you’?” He said he sees they “have some haters in the house.” He said he wanted to hear from those who came to “ride or die with the last real good guy.” Mostly boos.
Sami said it’s been an interesting week. He said he went toe to toe with Reigns, and Reigns said the man makes the championship rather than the champion makes the man. He asked who “the man” in WWE is, then. He said the alpha male is the smartest, the one who survives, “and that is me.” He said there are 8 billion people on the planet, and there’s only one WWE Champion. He listed wrestlers who are aiming for him.
He was interrupted by Rey Fenix’s music. Fenix walked out with the AAA Cruiserweight Title belt over his shoulder. He entered the ring and said that Sami has asked him if his brother Penta is going to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase against him. He said he told Sami he doesn’t know. He asked Sami if they’re still friends. He said he has a problem with Ricky Saints. He said if Sami disrespects his family, though, they’ll have a problem. Gargano stepped into Rey’s face. Sami said it’s okay and tried to keep everyone calm.
Sami said he’s always respected Fenix and they’ve gotten along. He said he just thinks his brother Penta should focus on Roman. He was interrupted by Trick Williams’s music.
Trick came out without Lil Yachty, but with the US Title belt wrapped around his waist. He told Fenix he feels his pain because he has an issue with Sami, too. He said Sami told him last week he doesn’t know how to survive. He said Sami puts no fear in his heart. He said he doesn’t feel the need to survive. He said he’s there to thrive, not survive. He said he’s only been there ten months and he’s only getting better. he said Sami’s been in the game 25 years, still trying to convince everyone that he knows what “it” is. He said, “It already beat your ass at WrestleMania.”
He approached Sami and told him he’s not king of the jungle and he’s the joke. He said only one of them knows how to look, talk, walk, and smell like the champion. He said when it comes to them, he’s the veteran and Sami is the rookie. Fans chanted, “Whoop that Trick!” He told Sami to give him a title match.
Sami, looking infazed, said, “Well, so much to unpack there.” He said Trick should be afraid of him. He said Trick has a silver tongue, but he has a tongue that is made of steel and it’s razor sharp. He said he could slice and dice him and expose every weakness in his game. He said he can see it all and he is operating on levels he can’t begin to understand.
He said he is a good guy and he wants Trick to enjoy what he has going. He said he’s having one of the best rookie years anyone’s had, but eventually everyone will determine “you don’t have ‘it’ because you don’t even know what ‘it’ is.” He said he’s a lot closer to sink or swim than he realizes. He told him sternly that he is swimming in deep waters. He held up his WWE Title. He said nothing has sharper teeth than him. He said he is no where closer to a WWE Title match now.
Trick asked where those sharp teeth where when he beat him. He said he’s not asking for a title match, he’s demanding it. He said if he won’t give it to him, he’ll beat it out of him. Gargano stepped in his way. Trick grabbed Gargano’s throat. Sami hit Trick from behind and then left the ring.
GM Nick Aldis stepped out onto the entrance and said he has a problem with them carrying on like they call the shots around there. He said he’s going to remind him of that by booking him and Gargano tonight against Trick & Fenix. Cole and Graves agreed that’s “a big time tag team match.”
-They went to Cole and Graves at ringside. They threw to a clip of Roxanne Perez pinning Chelsea Green after a Pop Rox two weeks ago on Raw.
-Perez made her entrance. [c]
