EXCLUSIVE: JCW co-owner Violent J says his goal with JCW Lunacy “is to be a respected independent”

By Sean Radican, PWTorch columnist

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

JCW co-owner Violent J said his goal for JCW Lunacy was to make JCW a respected independent wrestling promotion when the promotion began running weekly episodes on YouTube. “Our goal is to be a respected independent, you know what I mean?” said J during an exclusive interview on Radican Worldwide available now for PWTorch VIP members. “That gets written about in the wrestling community online, the internet wrestling community, you know what I mean? We wanted to be written about. We wanted to be talked about in the magazines and on the websites and all that. That was our goal.

“And so it was touchable. It was reachable. It was obtainable, you know what I mean? It’s just gonna take hard work. And so we’ve been after that ever since. And now my goal is to see JCW be self-sufficient. I want it to operate itself so we don’t have to keep pouring money into it. I want it to take care of itself, you know what I mean?

“So we have all sorts of angles toward monetizing everything now and getting it in place to, to make money and, and how to make money. And we opened up our web store, our merchandise line, and we, and we have a video game on our website, and we’re about to open up subscriptions to our website where you can watch all the pay-per-views on the website if you get the subscription to it, you know what I mean?

“And you can do all this other stuff on the website if you get the subscription. And we just, we’re just making things better and better and working toward our goal, you know? And it’s not a goal that’s out of line. It’s a realistic goal, and I think that’s why we achieve our goals, because we set them kinda low. You know, not that’s a low goal, but we know we’re able to achieve it.”

J believes JCW can expand its audience beyond juggalo wrestling fans and appeal to all wrestling fans because the company has professionals working for the company behind the scenes.  “We’ve got enough professionals with us,” said J. “We’ve got a lotta great minds behind JCW and a lot of willpower, and I think we can achieve that goal, and that’s what we’ve been chasing for a little over two years now.

“Ever since Lunacy came out, that was the beginning of it. Lunacy every week. On YouTube, 7:00 Thursday. And I remember there used to be 100 people watching it live every, every Thursday. There would be 100 people. Now there’s like 3,000 people watching it live, you know what I mean?”
