Kota Ibushi updates injury status

AEW wrestler Kota Ibushi has posted a video on his Instagram updating his injury status.

Ibushi broke his femur during a match against Josh Alexander in October 2025. Since having surgery, he has had two additional operations on his leg with the most recent one coming last week when he had surgery to replace the plates in his leg.

Ibushi posted a video today where he promised to return to the ring. The video started with a somber tone where he teased being done with wrestling. Ibushi said it wouldn’t be possible to make a comeback to the ring before the video changed to a happier tone with him announcing he has recovered from surgery. Ibushi admitted his leg isn’t in good shape, but vowed to return to wrestling.
