Roman Reigns believes that only Cody Rhodes is capable of carrying the WWE banner.
“As it’s been shown with John (Cena) and then also with me, it takes a decade or so,” said Reigns during an interview with Mark Elibert of Complex. “Can you perform every single time and then deliver when you’re asked? Can you do it when you’re tired? Can you do it when you’re sick? Can you do it when you’re hungover after WrestleMania? Can you carry the banner for this company?”
Reigns said he believes only Rhodes is capable of carrying WWE because he has the traits of a top star. “This is a billion-dollar machine, said Reigns. “It’s not easy. There’s only been one who’s been able to carry that banner and that’s been Cody.”
Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns to “finish his story” in the main event of WrestleMania 40 and has been a top star in WWE since that time with Reigns taking on a part-time schedule. Rhodes and Reigns are both set to appear in the upcoming “Street Fighter” movie. Rhodes will play Guile and Reigns will play Akuma. NJPW wrestler Hirooki Goto also appears in the movie as E. Honda.
