Kurt Angle will be inducted into the WWE Class of 2017 Hall of Fame, WWE announced this afternoon. Angle left WWE over 10 years ago and spent years wrestling in TNA. He has already been inducted into TNA’s Hall of Fame. Angle, an Olympic Gold Medalist, was among the elite stars in the ring and most prominently featured attractions on WWE TV during his eight years with the company.

Keller’s Analysis: This is a great headline act, and a nice sign that WWE is inducting him, showing that his time spent in TNA isn’t being held against him enough to cost him a prompt HOF induction. What I wonder is if he has one more match in him, or maybe two? Could he be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble and earn a title shot against A.J. Styles at WrestleMania? I wouldn’t put my money on that, because it seems if he was going to wrestle again, he would have done that and then been inducted in the Hall of Fame next year. But if WWE didn’t feel they had a headline-worthy act to put in the HOF this year, perhaps they’d take that approach.
