“A FAMILY MAN”

Bobby Roode is great at pushing people’s buttons. His manipulation of Roderick Strong these past months gave him a strong mental advantage as he successfully defeated Roddy to remain NXT champion. Strong however, refuses to let Roode off that easy, and has constantly berated the champ while looking for a rematch. Drew Mcintyre has done his part to become #1 contender and has kept his focus fully on the champ. So it would make sense for this to become a triple-threat for Takeover yes?

NOT NECESSARILY.

Instead, commissioner William Regal offered an enraged Strong a stipulation: If he can defeat big Mcintyre in a matchup tonight, he’ll give Roddy another shot at Roode POST Takeover, but he ensured everyone in Full Sail (and the millions watching at home) that the main event this Saturday is still a one-on-one between Bobby and Drew. It’s all a rather interesting decision, but it may have made this weekend’s outcome a little easier to predict. Either way, Roddy and Drew should deliver a fine fight for us, and it’ll be enticing to see if the Glorious One decides to get involved.

“RED MOON, GOLDEN EMPRESS”

One of the greatest attractions in all of wrestling will occur tonight on NXT: A contract signing between Ember Moon and the NXT women’s GODDESS, Asuka. Last time these two were in a ring together Ember showed how effective her Eclipse finisher could be if she is able to hit it, and left Asuka flat on her back. The champ isn’t one to be trifled with though. She has proven specifically with Ember that she is willing to play dirty to remain unbeaten, and may even try and gain an early advantage, whether it be mental or physical, tonight.

“READ THE BOOK, PAIN IS COMING”

SANITY may have Eric Young back to help them outsmart the elder Paul Ellering, but the Authors of Pain still don’t strike me as the kind who like to be messed with. Even after they suffered a brutal beatdown last week, I have a strong feeling that Akam and Rezar are prepared to add another chapter of blood and pain to their already expanding novella. Good thing for them that most of SANITY probably doesn’t even know how to read. (BOOM…BURN.)

“I WILL DEFEND… I WILL DEFEND”

-Johnny Gargano may still be getting over a broken heart, but since returning he’s looked strong, and will hope to keep that momentum going forward as he preps to take on Andrade Cien Almas at Brooklyn. Cien has had a change of attitude since Zelina came back into his life. These two could very well steal the show.

-Another matchup on the Takeover card that could be a barnburner is Aleister Black and Hideo Itami. Black is on a wicked winning streak and is fresh off defeating the recently debuted Kyle O’Reily. Itami on the other hand has let his loss to Roode in Chicago really amp up his aggression. He’s beaten on Oney Lorcan, and even got himself DQ’d in a matchup with his backstage buddy Kassius Ohno. Will Itami ever really get over his unfortunate luck in NXT?

-Ruby Riot may not be in the title picture, but she has the dream team of Peyton Royce and Billie Kaye to worry about. Once those girls get obsessed with someone, it’s all you should worry about.

Go home show for Takeover!!!! I’m excited for a certain signing to appear BAY BAY.
