Raw Rating: Key metrics from Monday night including how well show held audience throughout three hours, ranking among other cable shows, more

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

This week’s Monday Night Raw rating of 1.74 was the highest since Sept. 17 five weeks ago (1.79), but below the ten week rolling average headed into this week (1.81). The rating accounts for live viewers and same-night-DVR viewers, as measured by Nielsen Media Research.

The 1.74 is below the ratings of one year ago this week or 2.03 and two years ago this week of 2.01.

The first-to-third hour drop-off of 196,000 was the lowest since Aug. 20, and below last week’s drop-off of 274,000. More viewers than usual stuck around for all three hours.

The first hour viewership fo 2.609 million was the highest since Sept. 17, but not far off from the recent range (the ten-week rolling average headed into this week was 2.763 million). The third hour viewership of 2.413 million was also in the recent range (the ten-week rolling average headed into this week was 278,000).

The 2018 average rating is 2.03 to this point.

As to how Raw compared to other cable show on Monday night, TVByTheNumbers shows that Raw ranked no. 4, 5, and 7 in the top ten rankings among all shows in the coveted 18-49 adult demographic. The NFL Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons was ranked number one with a 3.5 rating in that key demo compared to Raw’s 1.0, 0.9, and 0.9 ratings for each of its hours.

In terms of total viewership, seven shows finished ahead of Raw’s best hour, all either NFL related shows or news and political programming.
