McMahon’s Impact Wrestling Report

Aired on PopTV

— Impact opened with highlights of last week’s show.

(1) Jake Crist (w/ Dave Crist & Sami Callihan) def. Willie Mack — Ultimate X Qualifying Match

Sami Callihan distracted Mack, which allowed Crist to hit a Super Ace Crusher for the win.

McMahon: By virtue of winning this match, Crist will earn a spot in the Ultimate X match at Homecoming for the vacant X-Division Championship. It’s fine giving Crist a spot in that Ultimate X match — quite frankly, I think he’ll do some fun things in the spot — but Impact has dropped the ball on Mack since his debut at Bound for Glory. Few things Mack has done on the show have had any consequences, and he’s disappeared for weeks at a time.

— Su Yung and the new Dark Allie were backstage.

(2) Allie (w/ Su Yung) def. Heather Monroe

After the match, Allie put on the old bloody glove. Josh Mathews said she wanted to send a message and Allie put the mandible claw on Monroe. Kiera Hogan ran out from backstage and she attacked Su Yung, throwing her into the steps. Hogan hit the ring and tried to talk sense into Allie, but Allie snapped and dropped Hogan with a right hand. Allie and Yung took turns beating on Hogan in the ring.

McMahon: If you’re into this sort of thing, you loved this segment. If you’re not into this sort of thing, you hated it. There doesn’t seem to be much gray area.

— Willie Mack and Rich Swann were backstage talking about OVE. Swann said that OVE did was whack, but they don’t want to go down that path right now. Mack said OVE put them down a one-way street on that path.

(3) The Desi Hit Squad (w/ Gama Singh) def. Damian Hyde & Manny Lemons

At one point in the match, Manny Lemons ate a bunch of lemons. The DHS got the pin not long after the lemon incident.

McMahon: If you fell asleep, I wouldn’t blame you. It’s 10:42 p.m. on the east coast, and here’s a ho-hum basic match, with a guy eating lemons like this is 1996 WWF.

— Eddie Edwards was backstage cutting a promo while Ethan Page stretched and got ready for his match.

— McKenzie Mitchell interviewed Katarina backstage. Katarina said that Jordynne Grace’s two wins against her were lucky. Katarina said she had a new friend. Ruby Raze walked into the shot and Mitchell ran off. Katarina said that Raze was her friend, but she would be Grace’s nightmare.

— The GWN Moment of the Week aired. It featured Bully Ray, Chris Sabin and Hulk Hogan. It was from a time that people attended these tapings.

— McKenzie Mitchell was outside the impact office where she said there was a commotion. Eli Drake came out of the office and revealed that Abyss challenged him to a Monster’s Ball match at Homecoming.

— A new Rascalz promo aired in the That 70’s Show style. Scarlet Bordeaux became the fourth chair in the vignette, and she told the Rascalz to get involved in her talent search.

(4) Ethan Page def. Matt Sydal — Ultimate X Qualifying Match

After the match, Page and Sydal shook hands and Sydal raised his hand before leaving and giving Page the ring to celebrate.

McMahon: Really good match; without question, it’s the best showing of Page’s new Impact run. The match was on par with the style of matches Page had on the indie scene. For a bigger guy, he has good athleticism.

— Video aired on Tessa Blanchard vs. Taya Valkyrie

— In the insane asylum, Eddie Edwards was playing chess with Raven. Edwards said he was committed and he can’t be there. Raven said it’s nice there, and he checks himself in once per month. Raven said he took a guy’s wife and kid once. Raven said Edwards hasn’t gone far enough. Raven stole a nurse’s key card and he gave it to Edwards, who said: “I owe you one.” Raven said, “yeah, you do.”

— Konnan was backstage trying to broker something between LAX and the Lucha Brothers. After some talking, Konnan said the teams would tear the house down at Homecoming. Then Pentagon said Zero Fear and LAX and the Lucha Bros. began pushing. Konnan snapped and said that’s what he didn’t want.

— McKenzie Mitchell interviewed Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie.

(5) Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie def. Moose & Tessa Blanchard

After the match, Moose speared Impact and set up Tessa Blanchard to use a chair on Taya Valkyrie. Killer Kross hit the ring and stopped Tessa from using the chair on Taya. Kross grabbed the chair and threw it out of the ring. Moose tried to talk to Kross and Brian Cage hit the ring. Cage took out Kross and Moose. Kross no-sold a German suplex and then left the ring. Cage checked on Impact and Taya Valkyrie as the show went off the air.
