COLLECTIBLES COLUMN 5 COUNT: Most Valuable Pop Vinyl Wrestling Figures

By Michael Moore, PWTorch Collectibles Specialist

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Funko’s Pop Vinyl toy line has infiltrated just about every aspect of pop culture: movies, music, politics, TV shows, sports — and of course pro wrestling.

The Pop Vinyl figures are instantly recognizable by their bobble head-like appearances: big heads, button eyes and tiny bodies. Most Pop Vinyl figures originally carry a standard retail price of around $10 and can be found at stores such as Hot Topic, FYE, Walmart and Target, but there are plenty of other figures that are exclusive to certain conventions, stores, websites and more.

Funko has made Pop Vinyl figures of WWE wrestlers and then-New Japan Pro Wrestling stars Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks. In addition, wrestling-related figures have included Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jack Black’s titular character from “Nacho Libre,” among others.

Some wrestling Pop Vinyl figures are worth hundreds of dollars. Here’s a look at the five most valuable wrestling Pop Vinyl figures to date, based on eBay sale prices for the 90 days ending June 11, 2019. Only figures with at least five completed listings were included.

A handy guide to Funko WWE Pop Vinyl figures is available HERE.

  1. Hulk Hogan #11 WWE.com Exclusive. Average eBay sale price: $320.00. Funko made a few different Pops of Hogan from 2014 to 2015, before “the Hulkster” ran afoul of WWE and its licensing partners. This is the most valuable of the bunch; it was exclusive to WWE.com and has Hogan in a yellow “Hulk Rules” shirt.
  2. Rey Mysterio #06 2014 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive. Average eBay sale price: $289.37. Mysterio had three different Pops in 2014 before leaving the company, all of which are scarce and valuable. The most valuable of the bunch is this 2014 San Diego ComicCon exclusive, which has Mysterio in a black mask and gear with neon pink and blue highlights.
  3. CM Punk #02 Hot Topic Exclusive. Average eBay sale price: $217.88. Funko made two different versions of Punk’s Pop in 2013. The basic figure has Punk in black tights with blue and white highlights and stars, similar to the gear he wore during his crowning moment at Money in the Bank 2011. But the more valuable of the two Pops is this Hot Topic exclusive, which has Punk in hot pink trunks and boots.
  4. AJ Lee #12. Average eBay sale price: $215.30. The unique thing about AJ Lee’s Pop is that while others on this list were limited edition figures exclusive to a website or a convention, hers was a standard figure that was found in most retail stores. This figure has AJ in a black “Love Bites” T-shirt and pink and black gear.
  5. Randy Savage #10 WWE.com Exclusive. Average eBay sale price: $185.94. Funko made three different versions of Savage’s Pop, the scarcest of which is this WWE.com exclusive. This figure has the “Macho Man” in pink trunks, yellow boots, translucent sunglasses and a pink and black zebra striped bandana.
