Raw Rating: Season premiere improves upon year-ago ratings, finishes well behind NFL game, other key metrics

The “season premiere” of WWE Monday Night Raw on USA Network drew a 1.78 rating, a leap from the previous several weeks ratings including last week’s 1.69 and the prior week’s 1.64. One year ago this week, Raw drew a 1.63 rating, so this was the second week in a row this year’s rating beating the previous year’s rating. This was the best rating since the 1.79 on Aug. 26.

The first hour drew 2.701 million viewers, the second hour 2.592 million viewers, and the third hour 2.416 million viewers. It was the highest third hour viewership since Aug. 19 It was also the best first-hour viewership since Aug. Aug. 12.

Raw’s three hours finished in the usual positions of no. 4, 5, and 6 in the key 18-49 demographic rankings among other Monday night cable shows, behind the NFL game on ESPN (Bengals vs. Steelers, which drew a 3.5 demo rating), the pre-show on ESPN (1.7), and the post-show on ESPN (1.0). Raw drew 0.9 demo rating for the first two hours and a 0.8 demo rating for the third hour. Raw edged out “90 Day Fiancé” on TLC which drew a 0.7 rating.
