SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Tony Khan’s newest signee will make her AEW debut next week on the March 30 episode of Dynamite in a Owen Hart Cup Women’s Tournament qualifying match. After teasing a new addition to the women’s division, it was revealed this week on Rampage that the new star would face The Bunny to get into the inaugural tournament.

Tony Khan announced the Owen Hart Cup Tournaments and a working relationship with Martha Hart in 2021. The men’s and women’s tournaments will culminate and crown winners at AEW Double or Nothing at the end of May. The tournament will be an annual and pillar event for AEW moving forward. Stakes for the tournament, if any, have not been revealed outside of the cup win.

In an interview appearance this week, Khan teased the news with a coy, but calculatedly hyped response to a question about expanding the women’s division.

“Yes,” AEW President Tony Khan said of adding women’s talent. “I’m not going to say who, but yes. It’s a good question and without naming any specific names or spoiling anything, I will tell you yes. And as for when and where, I suggest you watch Rampage tonight (3/25) to get more info.”

AEW Rampage this week featured Shane Strickland vs. Ricky Starks for the FTW Championship, Lance Archer vs. Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall awarding Hook with a certificate of achievement, and more.

AEW Dynamite next week will include FTR vs. The Gunn Club and Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo.
