[HOUR ONE]
-The participants in the 6-man tag team match later tonight were shown, and then they cut to Jaida Parker and Thea Hail in the back. Parker chatted with her briefly before the pulsating beat began playing, letting us know the show was kicking off with a big match.
(1) KELANI JORDAN (c) vs. JAIDA PARKER – NXT Women’s Championship Match
Mike Rome made the official ring introductions. Jordan took control early in the match after a brief back and forth between the two. She went for a headscissors, but Parker stopped her momentum and turned it into a powerbomb for a near fall. Parker trash talked Jordan as they cut to a split-screen commercial break. [c]
After a booze advertisement and a lady in an elegant gown sniffed laundry beads, they returned to full-screen to find Jordan in control of her challenger. She climbed to the top with Parker, but got shoved off to the mat. After rising to their feet, they exchanged forearms and kicks that staggered each other. Parker fired up and took it to the champ. She dropped Jordan face first onto the mat, then delivered a falcon’s arrow for a near fall. Parker locked in a Rings of Saturn, but Jordan quickly escaped.
Miss Parker attempted her corner hip drop, but Jordan countered it, then hit an Asai moonsault on the floor. Back in the ring, she missed a 450 splash, then got placed in the corner, where Parker nailed the hip drop. She went for a Hipnotic in the corner, but Jordan grabbed her and pulled her headfirst into the turnbuckle. The champ then nailed a split-legged moonsault for the win.
WINNER: Kelani Jordan at 9:56.
(Miller’s Take: Not bad, but I really expected a lot more out of this, considering the talent in the ring and the fact that it opened the show. It’s way too early for Jordan to drop the belt, so the outcome was no surprise, but what happened afterward was.)
-After the match, a furious Wren Sinclair ran to the ring and attacked Jordan. She turned and decked referee Victoria D’Errico before grabbing a kendo stick from underneath the ring and wearing Jordan out with it before officials ran out to keep Sinclair from pulverizing her.
-”Yesterday”, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar begged GM Robert Stone for a match against The Creeds, which he granted.
-Dar & Moreno made their ring entrance before the next commercial break. [c]
-An X social media post from Myles Borne was shown where he questioned his decision to “get” Tavion Heights before Heights got him. He said he was man enough to admit he’s wrong and apologized. Heights was shown watching the video with Hank & Tank. He was obviously torn on whether to believe Borne or not, but said he had to focus on his title match for now.
(2) ROMEO MORENO & NOAM DAR vs. THE CREED BROTHERS (Brutus & Julius)
The Creeds roughed up Moreno in the opening moments of the match. Dar & Moreno used their speed game to overcome the power of The Creeds. The fight went to the floor with Moreno & Dar executing an aerial assault to keep their opponents grounded. Brutus (or Julius? I honestly don’t know one from the other at this point) got brutalized on the ring steps before they cut to a split-screen commercial break. [c]
After a peppy, upbeat chicken joint commercial that made me want to get up and boogie (not really), they returned to full-screen, where The Creeds were once again thumping their opponents. Dar leaped for the tag, but got caught by Julius. He broke free and evaded his larger opponents to make the hot tag to Moreno, who landed some spectacular offense in the ring before nailing a springboard press to the outside that took down The Creeds. Julius caught a flying Moreno and folded him in half with a huge powerbomb. Some exciting and believable near falls followed that culminated in all four men being laid out in the ring. Julius got up and nearly decapitated Moreno with a clothesline before landing a double-team finisher for the win.
WINNERS: The Creed Brothers at 12:28.
(Miller’s Take: Good call bringing Brutus and Julius back down to NXT where they can regroup and press the reset button. Dar & Moreno are phenomenal, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them as tag champs in the near future, but tonight, it was about re-establishing The Creeds.)
-In the back, William Regal and Fit Finlay laid down the law with BirthRight. Despite Lexis King’s insistence that he would take care of Zilla Fatu, Regal said he had history with his father, Umaga, and he knew that his son, Charlie Dempsey, was the man for the job. He ordered Dempsey to bring Fatu to BirthRight. [c]
-In the back, GM Stone caught up with Wren Sinclair to admonish her, but she gave it back to him and said she was tired of being a doormat. Stone suspended her as security dragged her away.
-Charlie Dempsey stood mid-ring and talked about being underrated. He said he was more substance than style. He said he refused to sell out and said he jumped at the opportunity to join BirthRight. He claimed to be the best grappler in the entire company, but said NXT treated them like jokes. He said he was fed up and tired of a company that hired football player to train as wrestlers while ignoring the talent they already had. He then invited Zilla Fatu to join BirthRight.
-Fatu came out and admitted he had a chip on his shoulder because of who his father is. He said he was the main one and turned down the offer. The rest of BirthRight cornered him and started putting the boots to him. He fought back, but King smacked him with a chair. They dragged Fatu to the floor and powerbombed him through the announce desk while Arianna Grace screeched her approval.
-The Progressive NXT Focus was on Naraku, who cut a promo on Shiloh Hill. He explained that different colored mists had different effects. [c]
-In the back, Saquon Shugars was trying to plot and plan. D’Angelo stood up and complained about both Shugars and Rook. Tristan Angels came in and began running his mouth at Rook. He called Shugars a sheep before leaving. [c]

[HOUR TWO]
(1) JACKSON DRAKE (c) (w/The Vanity Project) vs. TAVION HEIGHTS – NXT North American Championship Match
Once again, Mike Rome stood in the spotlight as he made the official ring introductions. At the bell, Heights muscled Drake over into a backdrop, then smothered him with his outstanding amateur skills. Drake eventually turned the tide with a little treachery. Ricky Smokes tripped up Heights, who slid out and decked him in response. Upon getting back in the ring, Drake took advantage and tossed him back out to the floor, which is the universal signal for a commercial break, this time of the split-screen variety. [c]
After a woman transformed into her aunt and some blue bears plugged toilet paper, they returned to full-screen, Drake appeared to land awkwardly on his ankle. He began loosening his boot. He rolled to the outside and took the boot off. Heights followed him out, but Drake fought him off before rolling him back in the ring. Drake appeared to be wrestling out of survival before Heights came to life. A one-booted Drake continued to favor his leg as he struggled to stay in the match.
On the apron, he landed some kicks with his good foot, but Heights caught him and delivered a crushing German suplex on the apron. The two men traded near falls before Drake caught Heights with a stiff knee. He hit the 450 splash off the top for the pin.
WINNER: Jackson Drake at 11:48 to retain the North American Championship.
(Miller’s Take: This was really good. LIke the women’s match earlier, this was a first title defense, so I didn’t expect Drake to drop the strap. I’m not certain if Drake’s injury was legit or not, but he certainly looked like he’d been in a fight at the end of the match. He sported a blood mouth to go along with his injured leg as he celebrated with The Vanity Project.)
-After the match, Myles Borne stood in the stands among the fans and just stared at Heights, who didn’t seem to know what to make of it.
-In the men’s locker room, Keanu Carver, Cruz Montana, and E.K. Prosper chatted with each other prior to their upcoming match.
-Women’s North American Champion Zaria was shown walking toward the ring entrance before they cut to a preview of the new Mr. T biography. [c]
-Zaria made her ring entrance. She talked about how much success she has seen since she shed the dead weight that was Sol Ruca. She said she turned her nightmare into redemption as the fans cheered. She said she got rid of the Speed title (as I cheered) before she was interrupted by Izzi Dame, who was standing in the balcony. I’d forgotten Dame was still around. She told Zaria she saw through her act and was going to expose her and show everyone who the real Zaria is.
-Thea Hail interrupted next, coming out to challenge Zaria. Dame cut her off quickly and said she would let them fight it out and take whoever was behind the belt. Hail said she was out ot prove she wasn’t a one-hit wonder. Zaria accused her of only doing what Jaida Parker told her to do. Hail told her to get over Sol before the two began brawling. Hail locked in a Kimura that made Zaria tap. An overly exuberant Hail ran around like crazy before running to the back.
-In the back, Hank & Tank encouraged Myles Borne to apologize to Heights in person. He admitted he messed up with Heights, but lamented that his former buddy now wanted nothing to do with him. They insisted it would be okay if he would just offer a sincere apology next week, which Borne agreed to do. [c]
-The members of BirthRight were shown walking in the back, proud of their beatdown of Zilla Fatu. Regal and Finlay told them they were proud of them. The Vanity Project walked up and bragged to Regal, who told him to watch out because BirthRight was on the hunt. Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux, The Creed Brothers, and DarkState all walked up and argued amongst each other.
-Sarah Schreiber interviewed Kali Armstrong, who was interrupted by Lizzy Rain. Rain was still hot over her interview time being stolen by Armstrong, but officials stepped in between them before they threw down.
-Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars, and Tony D’Angelo made their respective ring entrances. NXT Champion Grayson Waller sauntered out to join Joseph and Booker on commentary before they cut to a commercial break. [c]
(1) MASON ROOK & SAQUON SHUGARS & TONY D’ANGELO vs. E.K. PROSPER & KEANU CARVER & CRUZ MONTANA – 6-Man Tag Team Match
The stipulation of the match stated that the winning team will compete against each other in a triple-threat match to determine the #1 contender to the NXT Championship. A brawl broke out at the bell before settling into Prosper vs. Shugars in the ring. Carver tagged himself in and pounced Carver into the next county. Rook tagged in and also got tossed around by Carver, which was an amazing sight. Montana tagged in and got a little fancy with some highly choreographed offense against Tony D. and Rook.
D’Angelo threw Prosper around the ring for awhile before tagging out to Shugars, who followed up with an atomic drop. Carver pounced D’Angelo before everyone took turns hitting highspots. Prosper scored a believable near-fall on Shugars before they cut to another split-screen commercial break. [c]
Tide, Jack Daniels, and Bounty were advertised on the large, audible screen on the right while the action continued silently on the teeny, tiny screen on the left. When they returned to full-screen, Shugars was trying to escape to his corner for a tag and finally did so. Rook came in like a bulldozer and landed a crushing senton on Montana. Prosper, Montana, and Carver began working well together as the propped the large Rook on the top turnbuckle. Montana & Carver executed a huge superplex on Rook, which Prosper followed up with a big splash for a near fall.
Some inadvertent contact between Carver and Montana sparked some friction, which was inevitable. Tony D moved out of the way of Montana, who accidentally took out Carver. D’Angelo hit a spear on Prosper before Rook tagged himself in. He lifted D’Angelo over his shoulders and delivered a cannonball that crushed Prosper. Rook grinned widely as he got the pin.
WINNERS: Mason Rook & Saquon Shugars & Tony D’Angelo at 12:25 to advance to the #1 contender’s triple-threat match.
(Miller’s Take: They crammed a lot of random action into that 12 minutes. As is usually the case in these types of matches, ring psychology was nonexistent, but it was fun to watch, nevertheless.)
-After the match, the three winners bickered while Waller ran his mouth at the camera.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Very light on matches this week, but heavy on storylines and chaos. The opening match, which on paper should have been the show-stealer, was practically an afterthought. It’s tough when the show is filled with new champions defending, because it’s highly unlikely that you’re going to get anyone to believe there will be a title change this early. Not a bad show, but not much to write home about, either. See you next week!
