-Joe Tessitore introduced the show as they showed arrivals and backstage shots of wrestlers on the show tonight.
-A video package aired on the Roman Reigns vs. Penta match on Raw last week.
-They showed LA Knight arriving. He crossed paths with Penta who then made his entrance. Tessitore called Penta’s match last week with Reigns “an instant classic.” Barrett said even though he lost, he showed he belongs in the upper echelon of WWE.
Penta said Raw last week was one of the biggest moments of his life. He said Roman was the better man last week, but it’s not over. He said he wanted another title shot. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonaugh then came out to boos. Dom said nobody cares about Penta’s hopes and dreams. JD then pointed out Penta lost, so he shouldn’t be talking about a rematch. He said Dom is going to win MITB and win the World Title long before Penta. Dom said he’s the top luchador and fans want to hear from him. Dom and JD attacked Penta. Penta made a comeback and landed a to[p rope crossbody block onto both JD and Dom, who then fled.
-Jacob Fatu told the Usos in their locker room. The Usos said they need to stay on the offense against The 946. Fatu again pushed lying low for now. When he left, Jey and Jimmy looked at each other skeptical of that advice. [c]
-Solo approached the Usos and said they need to unite against the 946. The Usos told Solo he left and asked if he really thought he could just return without acknowledging Roman. Solo, who was jovial, saod that won’t happen.
-Iyo Sky made her ring entrance. [c]
-A clip aired of La Catanlina beating Flam mer to win at the AAA title at TropleMania 34.
(1) ROXANNE PEREZ vs. IYO SKY vs. LA CATAINLINA – Money in the Bank qualifier
Tessitore talked about Catalina’s background. Fans chanted for Sky. Catalina dove onto both Sky and Perez as they cut to an early break. [c]
When Sky clotheslined both Perez and Catalina, she set up a top rope moonsult. Perez moved and she almost landed on her head. Perez then quickly gave Sy a Pop Rox for the win.
WINNER: Sky in 14:00 t0 qualify.
(Keller’s Analysis: All action and fans remain enthusiastically behind Sky every time.)
-Knight questioned Solo Sikoa about cavorting with The Bloodline. Solo said it wasn’t what he assumed. Knight then shifted to saying if he wins the title and Solo wins MITB, he better not comea fter him. Solo said Knight is “his boy” and he wouldn’t do that. [c]
-LA Knight came out to his music and got cheered. He said Roman Reigns and Penta tore the house down last week. He said Roman likes to be acknowledged a lot, as if he was ignored by his parents. He said Roman actually won on his own. He said he is truly great and might be the greatest champion of this generation, if not of all time. That got a mix of cheers and boos.
He said he wants to win the World Title, but he knows fans don’t think it’s going to happen. He said the last time he faced Roman, he lost. He said he has lost other opportunities. He hasn’t been able to win the big one. He said he watched last week and thought to himself that maybe no one can beat Roman. He said he thought to himself that is a hard pill to swallow and it’s hard to live with.
He said in the match last week, in the time when The Bloodline would normally run to the ring, there was no Bloodline. He mentioned other instances this year where there was no Bloodline. He said Reigns wants to rewrite his legacy as a dominant champion who can win on his own. “Yippe skippy,” he said. He said Roman has never defeated him on his own. He said his next chance is at Money in the Bank.
“I’m the most self-made son of a bitch in this game,” he said. He said at MITB, he’ll acknowledge Roman acknowledging him when he beats him for the title. He closed with his catch phrases. Barrett said it’s hard to find anyone more confident than that.
(Keller’s Analyis: Good promo from Knight. Fans are behind him 100 percent and mixed when it comes to Roman. He continues to be the person who speaks truth about Roman.)
-Byron Saxton interviewed Je’Von Evans backstage. He told an ebullient Evans that he’s the youngest wrestler to ever qualify for MITB. He said he is the youngest and smoothest and he’ll win. The Vision was snickering in the background. Bron Breakker stepped up to him and congratulated him for qualifying. He said Money in the Bank is his, “so it’s no longer your concern.” Evans said, “Oh, it’s like that.” He suggested they wrestle, but he said they outnumber him. He counted and then slapped Bron, then ran away. Breakker paused. Logan asked why he was stopping them from going after him. Breakker said it’s time they start using their heads. He said he’s about to become part of history.
Evans then made his entrance. Barrett asked, “Is this happening? Are we having a match here?”
