WWE Hall of Fame member Kane (Glenn Jacobs) is reportedly the favorite to be appointed the next U.S. senator from Tennessee.

Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), who occupied the seat, was elected governor of Tennessee on Tuesday during the midterm elections and Jacobs is expected to fill the vacancy according to a report from The Washington Sun.

The report stated that “Jacobs and Rep. Tim Burchett have spent months strengthening ties to Blackburn, campaigning across Tennessee on her behalf, positioning themselves for a possible appointment to her Senate seat” and “Jacobs, the ex-WWE star turned two-term mayor, is a client of Ward Baker, the top consultant for Blackburn. He has also become an increasingly close ally of the governor-elect.”

Jacobs also a favorite for the vacancy because of his name recognition and ability to connect with different types of people according to the report, which stated he “has a unique ability to connect with establishment Republicans and working-class voters alike.”

Blackburn will be choosing who fills her seat in the senate when she officially takes over as governor of Tennessee in January of 2027. She will be picking her own replacement for the senate when she becomes governor in January 2027.

The Washington Sun’s report named Tim Burchett, who served as Knox County mayor prior to Jacobs, as one of the other candidates to fill Blackburn’s vacancy in the senate. He has made it known he wants to fill the position according to the report.
