Big ROH Title match added to upcoming New Japan show

September 9 Update: The match-up between ROH champion Adam Cole and Will Ospreay in Japan will now be for the ROH World Title.

Cole vs. Ospreay was initially booked as a non-title match at New Japan’s “Road to Destruction” show in Hiroshima, Japan on September 22.

ROH announced Friday that Cole will now defend the ROH Title against Ospreay on the Sept. 22 show.

New Japan announced Monday several big title matches for their upcoming post-G1 Climax tour – three “Destruction” shows in September and “King of Pro Wrestling” in October.

The big title match is Kazuchika Okada vs. Naomichi Marufuji for the IWGP World Hvt. Title at “King of Pro Wrestling” on October 10 in Tokyo.

Leading up to KOPW are several more big title matches. Plus, Kenny Omega defends his G1 Climax victory against YOSHI-HAHSI on September 22 at “Destruction in Hiroshima.”

ROH roster members in the mix include Michael Elgin defending the IWGP IC Title against Naito on September 25.

Plus, ROH TV champion Bobby Fish challenges Shibata for the NEVER Openweight Title on September 17 in Tokyo.

Also, The Briscoes and Young Bucks meet for the IWGP World Tag Titles on Sept. 22.

Plus, new ROH World champion Adam Cole is scheduled to join the tour, including a big singles match against Will Ospreay on September 22.

Cole and the Bucks then challenge for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles on Sept. 25.
